BGH Director of Facilities Curtis Johnson Elected President Elect of the Idaho Society for Healthcare Engineering
Curtis Johnson, the new Director of Facilities at Bonner General Health, pictured right, was recently elected President Elect of the Idaho Society for Healthcare Engineering (ISHE). ISHE is the award-winning Idaho state chapter for the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE).
ASHE has a membership of over 12,000 facilities professionals. After 2 years as ISHE President Elect, Johnson will serve for two years as the chapter president. ISHE meets twice per year, with participation from most of the hospitals in Idaho, and every three years hosts a regional meeting to include hospitals from Washington, Oregon, Montana and Wyoming. Networking and collaborating on regulatory issues is a great benefit to all involved.
On being promoted to Facilities Director at BGH Johnson said, “I wouldn’t have imagined I would end up in healthcare. I have a background in high speed manufacturing and robotics. After coming to BGH and moving back to my hometown I couldn’t imagine a more rewarding career and a more important place to work. BGH is the cornerstone of our community and I am so excited to be a part of our future.”
“Being involved with ISHE leadership is important in ensuring healthcare facilities engineers in Idaho are well informed with regulatory changes, best practices, and industry needs,” said Johnson. “The Idaho chapter is focused on improving healthcare through better facility engineering. Embracing this mindset gives us a bright future at BGH and as an industry.”
